Horrible horrible store. We waited in line to enter which is fine. They are only letting 50 people in at a time. I completed understand and we were fine with that. While shopping we passed several workers. 5 of them even spoke to us. From a simple hello to one of them trying to get us to sign up for something. My husband and I shopped for a good hour. We picked out clothes, shoes, dog toys, and candles. Get to the check out only to be asked if we are paying with cash or card? Card of course. Card for 2 reasons... 1. We don’t carry hundreds of dollars around on us. And 2, we are in the middle of a world shut down and urged to use as little cash as possible. The cashier proceeds to tell us the systems are down and they cannot take cards. Okay I get things happen that they cannot control but how do you wait until customers are checking out to tell them this? The manager on duty was rude and didn’t care that we were upset. Told us it’s company wide and she couldn’t do anything. Didn’t offer any apologies or anything. She through her arms in the air and said its company wide. We were not the only people that this happened too. Like I said I get things happen out of anyone’s control. But you are only letting 50 people in your store. 5 of your employees spoke to us while we were shopping. They didn’t bother to have any of them let us know we wouldn’t be able to check out with a credit card. How is that customer service? They can bug you to sign up for a rewards program or sign up for our credit card. But no courtesy and letting us know the systems are down?? Really Bass Pro. I wish I would have got the name of the so called manager that was so horribly rude about it. I was so upset and mad when we left I didn’t think to get her name.

We weren’t given any sort of time frame or we can hold it for you and call you when it’s back up. Yet the customers waiting in line to go into the store were told the systems would be back up within 10 mins. Had we been told 10 mins we would have happily waited. But we weren’t. The manager just kept running her mouth about how it’s not her fault. Waving her arms in the air and grinning while she very sarcastically told us to have a good day.

We had at least $400 worth of just clothes in our shopping cart. Total probably about $550-$600 we were going to spend in your store today. Now we will never go back. It’s easy to see why stores keep closing.

It’s not the first time your staff has been rude to a member of our family. But it will be the last. We will not be back to shop with Bass every again. And that is a shame because we really do love the cloths and other merchandise you carry.

Online ordering is not good with shipping dates order 4 items supposed to arrive in 4 days all 4 items and I get an email the day before delivery 2 of 4 have shipped and will arrive 2 days after the original date and there is no way to communicate online. I don't think Bass Pro wants to hear from me.

Bass Pro Shops history

The majority owner, John Morris, began his career in sporting goods with a fishing section in the back of a Brown Derby liquor store owned by his father, located in Springfield MO on the road to Table Rock Lake and Branson, Missouri. That small fishing department sold homemade bait and worms, proving popular enough that Bass Pro Shops was incorporated in 1971. These homemade baits were so popular that many people wanted the opportunity to buy these when they had returned home. Thus began the Bass Pro Shops catalog, first mailed in 1974. Soon, it became the world’s largest mail order sporting goods store.
